Disparity Divide
St. Louis has deeply rooted systems of redlining that have disproportionately affected Black and Brown people dating back to the 1920s.
The city’s urban planning is designed in such a way to encourage segregation. This is seen most clearly on Delmar Boulevard, which is one of America’s most segregated blocks.
This concept makes the message the medium: we can use the segregated line to tell the story of segregation and the impact is has on people’s health.
